Survey Participation
Participation in the 7th Annual Online High School Poll of Super Bowl Ads requires a faculty coordinator, who will guide her/his students through the Super Bowl modules in their various parts or segments. The students' commitment to participate in this project is significant. For example, each student must:
- watch the Super Bowl that starts around 6:20 pm,
- have access to a computer, and
- must be willing to evaluate advertisements in real-time.
Students initially label each ad as they watch it, rate it, and then briefly comment about it. At the end of the game each student must log on to www.americasmarketinghighschool.org, launch the survey, and submit their responses to the matching advertisements in the survey. Our past experience tells us that the survey should be available approximately 15 minutes after the game ends, and that completing the online portion of the survey should take 30 to 45 minutes.
Complete survey instructions and downloads are provided here.
Super Bowl Ad Nauseam Party
February 6, 2012
At 12:00 (noon) on Super Bowl/Water Cooler Monday, the Super Bowl Ad Nauseam survey results will be announced and compared to those of USA Today's "Ad Meter". During the hour, the results of the survey will be discussed, including Best Ads and Worst Ads. Poll highlights will include gender and grade differences, and there will be a specific emphasis given to auto-related ads.
All high school faculty whose students participate in the online poll will receive complete and final results of the poll for their own classroom usage. The Pizza, Pop, Pretzel & Press Party will be streamed live via the internet at www.mistreamnet.org as well as archived for later classroom usage.
Live and replay video of the SB Ad Nauseam Party can be viewed here.
